This project converted part of a 1970’s secondary college to meet a new learning pedagogy. Hede Architects won a limited competition for the design of a new type of
learning space for year 7 students to challenge their learning methods at the transition from primary to secondary education. It involved a performance culture where
common learning area is surrounded by home bases. Students are in a creative environment which regularly requires them to present work to the whole year level in a
multi media format. The zigzag glazing dramatically calls for fresh thinking and the spaces off this are presented as a bridge to their new educational pedagogy.
